Putting Up A Tipi

One of the ways to cook geese. The Canada goose is very important to us.

Visiting a tipi at Wanuskewin near Saskatoon; if you speak Cree, you know what to expect there. If you ever have the chance to go - go!

We've helped put up a tipi a couple of times, the first time in these pictures, it was really windy. The second time was in preparation for some goose cooking. YUM!!

Some people will tell you that only Indians in the plains used tipis but our great grandparents used these. One way to know that is  we have a Cree word for these (chi-poh-kahn) and they served a purpose. If you learn about engineering and physics and angles, the tipi might be interesting to you. You can do that kind of 'research' to earn some of your rewards. You can also look at it from a different perspective and learn instead about the 'teachings' in putting up a tipi - we'll show you a website for that if you don't have anyone to ask. You choose, you learn & earn.

Stomping off to a random tipi in Serpent River; 'ahh I'm home! :LOL

Us at the biggest tipi ever! Can you guess where this is?

Ta-da!
