This is Lucie Goosie.

​

She was found in the fall on the ice in a creek here in town.

 

A taxi driver found her and kept her in a crate. She couldn't fly. The crate was too small to keep her for a long time so Lucie Goosie went to live in Diane Ryder's heated garage.

​

Diane gave Lucie Goosie food and water all winter long. She also had a mirror to admire herself in and Diane left music on for Lucie all day.

​

Lucie Goosie stopped eating for a long while but suddenly just started eating again.

​

In the spring, Diane took Lucie Goosie on the train to Cochrane. She drove her to southern Ontario and released her around a flock of geese.
