Fiddlehead Picking

We went fiddlehead picking on an island in the river. We went with Diane Ryder and spent a couple of hours there. We also have wild onions and peas and sweetgrass in our river but we haven't picked any of those yet.

It was a beautiful day to go picking. We took a freighter canoe to the island.	We had to clean all the fiddleheads we picked, then we boiled them for a minute and packaged them all up and put them in the freezer. We took a few bags to our granny and great-granny.
We were lucky to get this many. If we waited a few more days we would have been too late.
